G-SHOCK has released a limited edition MTG-B1000 to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This would be the first time an MTG model has been used as a base for the Chinese New Year edition.
Casio and Chinese graffiti artist Hou Shanzhao worked together to create the engraved pattern on the gold case back and a painting of a golden tiger to support the release.
Honoring the Year of the Tiger, the MTG-B1000 features a gold-colored bezel with a tiger pattern effect. This is courtesy of a laser peeling process used on the bezel. The watch also features a striped black and gray dial, red hour indices, accents on the bezels, and a striking red stripe.
Other features of the limited edition MTG-B1000 include an LED light for watch readability in the dark, Bluetooth and Multi-Band 6 auto radio time sync. It also features a Triple G Resist (for dropping shocks, centrifugal force and vibrations), 200-meter water resistance, Tough Solar power and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass.
According to the official website, the watch also comes with a box with a powerful golden tiger face on top and inside the lid. The MTG-B1000CX-4AER is priced at £999 (about $1,370) in the United Kingdom.
